Adani Ports Records 50 Million Tonne Cargo In August 2026

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone recorded its highest monthly cargo volume of 50 million (mn) tonnes (t) in August 2026, prompting the stock to rise by one point two two per cent to Rs 1666. The August volume was 19 per cent higher than the 41.9 million (mn) tonnes (t) handled in August 2025 and marked the strongest single month in the company history.

Growth in August was led by dry cargo, which rose 25 per cent year on year, and container throughput, which increased 15 per cent year on year, reflecting a broad based improvement across segments. Logistics rail volumes for the month stood at 54,131 TEUs, representing a sequential increase of six per cent and supporting inland distribution.

For the April to August 2026 period the group handled 234.4 million (mn) tonnes (t) of cargo, up 16 per cent year on year, with dry cargo up 17 per cent and containers up 15 per cent, indicating sustained demand across its network. The year to date logistics rail volume was 250,461 TEUs, down 33 per cent year on year, reflecting variability in rail utilisation despite higher overall cargo throughput. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone remains the largest private port operator in India by handled volume and network reach.

In the first quarter of fiscal 2027 the company reported a consolidated net profit rise of nine point two three per cent to Rs 36,204 million (mn) on an 18.57 per cent increase in revenue to Rs 108,208 million (mn) compared with the year earlier quarter, underscoring improving commercial metrics. The combination of record monthly throughput and sequential gains in rail and container movements illustrated operational momentum as the company navigates evolving trade flows.
