Chandigarh International Airport unveiled

The Central Government inaugurated the Chandigarh International Airport on September 11, 2015. The state-of-the-art 60,591 sq m terminal has the capacity to accommodate 1,600 passengers at a time and has the capacity of eight bays for parking of planes. With the inauguration, the operation of domestic flights will also be shifted at the new terminal. The new terminal falls in the Jhurjeri village of Mohali district. The Air Traffic Control (ATC) and the runway will continue to be with the local base of the Indian Air Force (IAF).
