The Tirupati Smart City Corporation Limited (TSCCL) has bagged five awards at the national level for excelling in various categories in the city under the Smart City project.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Audimulapu Suresh along with Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) Commissioner in the capacity of TSCCL Managing Director Anupama Anjali and Deputy Mayor Mudra Narayana received the awards from Minister for Housing and Urban Development Hardeep Singh Puri at an event organised in Surat of Gujarat on Monday. The Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) has decided to set up a thermocol recycling unit, supervised under MM Enterprises, a Bengaluru-based company.The recycling unit would be in the management complex located in Tukivakam village near the city.
Madhu, the promoter of MM Enterprises, informed that after receiving the thermocol waste, it would be melted and made into blocks for factories in other states, which are engaged in the reuse of the thermocol garbage. The government announced its intention to complete GIS mapping of all National Highways with the aim of enhancing planning, execution, and monitoring processes.
