Wabag Secures Rs 7 billion Zambia Wastewater Treatment Project

Va Tech Wabag has secured a Rs 7 billion contract from Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Company (LWSC) to build two advanced wastewater treatment plants in Zambia. Funded by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Germany's KfW, the project includes a 54 MLD plant in Ngwerere and a 19 MLD facility in Chunga. Wabag will handle engineering, procurement, and construction, followed by two years of operation and maintenance. The plants will use solar power and biogas to meet most of their energy needs. This project strengthens Wabag's footprint in Africa and supports Zambia’s water and sanitation goals.
