Cement production in India is expected to remain steady, with the total production expected to grow by 5-7 per cent during FY2020, as per a report by Care Ratings. The southern and eastern regions are expected to continue to be major regional demand drivers, with sector demand drivers as roads, urban infrastructure and commercial real estate. Cement production grew by 13.3 per cent to 337.3 mt during 2018-19 as against 6.3 per cent growth in FY2018, the fastest growth in production of cement recorded in one single year over the last decade.
