India Cements embarks on Brownfield expansion

India Cements has embarked on the brownfield expansion to add over 3 mn tonne at two of its cement plants in Tamil Nadu. This includes 40 MW coal-based captive power plants at Dalavoi and Sankaridurg. The company also plans to add over 2.55 mn tonne to the existing 2.16 mn tonne annual capacity. This will take the total capacity to 4.71 mn tonne at Dalavoi. A 2 x 20 MW captive power plant will be set up to fully meet the power requirement.
