Madras Cements' profit more than trebles

Madras Cements' net profit during the second quarter of this year has more than tri­pled to Rs 110.88 crore on net sales of about Rs 818.99 crore as against around Rs 31.12 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year. During the second quarter, sales were 19 lakh tonne as against about 20 lakh tonne around the same time in 2009-10 and 16.73 lakh tonne in 2008-09. The annual production capacity of the company has now grown to around 14 mn tonne with the addition of about 2 mn tonne from the second line in the Ariyalur unit during the quarter.Contact: Madras Cements.
