Nirma plant on sticky wicket over wetlands

The Supreme Court has directed Nirma Industries to scrap its cement plant in Mahuva of Bhavnagar district if it fails to prove that the project does not fall in eco-sensitive wetlands. The apex court has ordered the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) to submit its decision at the next hearing, scheduled three months from now.
