Zuari to venture into cement business

Zuari Industries is planning to re-enter the cement industry after exiting it four years ago. The company initially plans to set up a 3 mn tonne cement plant at Gulbarga in Karnataka, which will require an investment of about Rs 1,500 crore. The work is expected to commence from mid-2011. The project is expected to be funded through a mix of internal accruals, borrowings and equity issue.
