Dalmia Cement bags National Award for Energy Efficiency

Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd (DCBL), one of the leading multi spectrum cement manufacturing companies in India, has bagged the Second Best Environmental Excellence award in plant operation for the year 2008-09 for its Dalmiapuram cement plant near Trichy in Tamil Nadu. R Rajamohan, Deputy General Manager, Technical Services, DCBL received the award at the 11th International Seminar organised by the National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCCBM). Puneet Dalmia, Managing Director, DCBL, said, 'We are the pioneers in installing 16.5 MW windmill in Tamil Nadu to generate non-conventional energy among the cement manufacturers.' DCBL is one of the lowest per tonne power consumption plants in South India.
