In Patna, once the 12 km-long AIIMS-Digha corridor completed, the road will provide much relief from the traffic congestion in the city, particularly on the narrow Ashok Rajpath as it would be connected with the Ganga Path at Digha end.
It is a 4-lane elevated road corridor project and is expected to become a glamorous main road for the Bihar capital city.
Bihar State Road Development Corporation (BSRDC) has recently awarded work on the project to major company Gammon India. Gammon had quoted the lowest of Rs 717.14 crore for the project. Eleven construction firms took part in the bidding.
