Repair to key road in Imphal ahead of Sangai fest

In Imphal, the Manipur government is planning to revamp the roads around Palace Compound ahead of the Sangai Festival. The government said that process for construction of Sanjenthong bridge would start once designing of the bridge is completed. The government has stated that the reason for developing cracks on the roads of Palace compound is due to faulty drainage system. The level of the drains located at the northern side of Palace compound is quite high, so excess water often flows over the road that lead to frequent developing of cracks on roads. The road would be revamped ahead of the upcoming Sangai Festival for the convenience of the tourists coming from other States and countries and people of Manipur, the State government said.
