The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL) has achieved a milestone under the leadership of its Managing Director Anurag Sachan – in the construction of the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) project, among the largest rail infrastructure projects in the country. A trial run has been successfully conducted by the Indian Railways on the newly completed 306-km-long section from Madar in Rajasthan to Kishangarh Balawas in Haryana. This is the first phase stretch of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor. Equipped for heavy-haul train operation with 25 tonne axle loads for the first time in the country, the section contains 15 major bridges and 271 minor bridges and 177 road-under-bridges. In August 2018, Sachan assumed charge as Managing Director of DFCCIL, and, with the successful trial run of the first phase stretch of the Western DFC, he seems to be on a spree to provide the project its necessary boost!
