In a one-of-a-kind event, KK Maheshwari has been appointed as the first ever Non-executive Vice Chairman of Ultratech. In his previous role as the Managing Director, he is credited with various accomplishments of the company. It was under Maheshwari’s guidance and leadership that the cement arm of the Aditya Birla Group went on to become the third largest cement producer in the world (outside of China), and exceeded the 100 million tonne capacity mark through various acquisitions. With this new appointment, Maheshwari has taken his place next to other veterans of the Aditya Birla Group who have continued to be an integral part of the US$ 48-billion company at a non-executive level. His determination to oversee the success of the group is evident in his more than 35 years of association with the company in various capacities, and we wish him all success in his new role!
