JPL to relocate its proposed 1,320 MW plant

Jindal Power Ltd (JPL) is planning to change the site of its proposed 1,320 MW power plant in Angul district of Orissa, so as to avoid use of irrigated land for the project. The company has approached the state energy department to allow relocation of the project to Badakerejang village instead of Boinda village as most of the land in Boinda is earmarked for an upcoming irrigation project.
