Pragati project battles execution delays

According to a CAG report, delay in decision making and slow execution has put the 1,500 MW Pragati phase III power project in Bawana at least eight months behind the schedule. Lack of timely execution after awarding the tender to BHEL delayed the commissioning of gas turbines for the project. Although the mega project was widely publicised to improve Delhi's power generation by the Commonwealth Games in October 2010 there was no capacity addition during the Games.
