Amit Shah Unveils Rs 17.23 Bn Delhi Projects on PM Modi’s Birthday

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah today inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of development projects worth around Rs 17.23 billion of the Delhi Government under the Seva Pakhwada, marking the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Union Minister Harsh Malhotra, and other dignitaries were present.

Addressing the gathering, Shah said citizens across India and abroad are praying for the Prime Minister’s long life and health. He recalled that since Modi became Prime Minister, his birthday has been observed as Seva Pakhwada (September 17–October 2), celebrated nationwide with cleanliness drives and welfare initiatives. He noted that this year, the Delhi Government launched 17 public welfare schemes on this occasion.

Highlighting the PM’s commitment to inclusive growth, Shah stated that in the last 11 years, over 600 million citizens have received basic facilities and 250 million people have risen above the poverty line. He said this spirit of service has inspired the youth to dedicate themselves to the nation.

Shah emphasized that PM Modi has always supported Delhi without discrimination, providing more than what was due despite past neglect by previous governments. He underscored the Prime Minister’s philosophy of treating all 1.4 billion Indians as his family, working tirelessly for their welfare, and strengthening India’s global standing.

The Home Minister also highlighted landmark achievements of the Modi government, including the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, the restoration of the Somnath Temple, and the abrogation of Article 370. He credited PM Modi’s dedication with propelling India from the 11th to the 4th largest economy, with a goal of becoming 3rd by 2027.

On the development front, Shri Shah announced the inauguration of the Narela-Bawana Waste-to-Energy Plant, which will process 3,000 tons of waste daily, in addition to the Okhla plant handling 2,000 tons. Together, these plants will generate green energy while reducing Delhi’s landfill burden.

He also noted that the Modi government has cut GST rates on essential goods, reducing taxes on 395 items to 0–5 per cent, and urged citizens to adopt a habit of buying Indian-made products to strengthen the nation’s self-reliance.

Shri Shah concluded by reaffirming PM Modi’s vision of making India a developed, secure, and prosperous nation by 2047, uniting every citizen in this resolve.
