Bhiwandi to be a logistics and godown hub

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has prepared a development plan to make the powerloom town of Bhiwandi, a logistics and godown hub. About 2,200 hectare has been earmarked for the development plan, out of which 400 to 500 hectare will be for the logistics and godown hub. While the existing godowns will be regularised, the godowns, which cannot be regularised after relaxing norms, will have to be demolished. Contact: Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority.
