Hiranandani Group plans to set up an 8 mn tonne liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal at Dighi port mainly for captive use at its upcoming power plants and to cater to consumers in the power and fertiliser industry.
It will make the foray through its privately-held company Hindustan Electricity Generation, which spearheads the group's power plans. Of the 8 mn tonne, the company will retain 40 per cent for captive use and will sell the remaining to potential customers in the petroleum marketing, power and fertiliser industries. The project would cost around Rs 8,000 crore.
