No land acquisition for phase-2 of Namma Metro

Land will not be acquired for property development by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) while executing Phase-II of the Namma Metro. Land acquisition will be restricted for land required for viaduct and stations alone. Though this, the corporation aims to cut down the project cost, which was estimated at Rs 26,405 crore. The corporation had estimated that about 2,000 properties spread over 200 hectare will be required for 72 km Phase-II, for the construction of four extension lines of the East-West and North-South corridors of Phase-I and two new lines.
