A good move

With two new alliances formed recently at bC India 2013, Conmat Systems is on a steady path of growth.

Around 50 per cent stake of Gujarat Conmat has been acquired by the world's largest shock absorber manufacturer and 49-year old Japan-based KYB Corporation.

Strategic alliance

The company has entered into this strategic partnership with Conmat to become a major player in the global construction equipment market. This will also accelerate its growth in term of market position, brand building and product portfolio well supported by Japanese technology, quality and production systems. The new JV will be used as a global sourcing hub for construction equipment.

The right choice

This is KYB's first investment in India and it favoured Conmat after studying all the major construction equipment manufacturers in India. The company was selected mainly for its ethics, principles and value; its positive brand image in the country; balanced approach to business and CSR; research, design and technology standards and state of art manufacturing facility.

Other ventures

Conmat has also formed a partnership with Arrow-the leading Australian Curb Machinery Manufacturer. The machines manufactured by this are already very popular in India and local manufacturing will boost the sales as the same technology will be available at a reasonable price.

Growth statistics

Conmat has grown rapidly in the last few years as a leading manufacturer of concrete paving machines and automatic batching or mixing plants, and now with inclusion of transit mixer and curb making machines in its product portfolio, the company will be able to serve a wider cross-section of customers in India and worldwide.
