Cos evince interest in UP expressway

Companies including Reliance Infrastructure Ltd, Jaypee Infratech, Nagarjuna Constructions Company Ltd, GVK Power & Infrastructure Ltd, IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd and Soma Enterprise Ltd, have expressed interest in the proposed 150-km expressway flanking the Upper Ganga Canal (UGC) in Uttar Pradesh. The eight-lane access controlled expressway entails an investment of Rs 6,200 crore and the work is likely to begin in the first quarter of FY 2010-2011. The project will be executed on a Design Built Finance Operate Transfer (DBFOT) basis.
