The dedicated freight corridor (DFC) project has now been fast-tracked. The project envisages exclusive freight rail lines along the western corridor between Delhi and Mumbai and the eastern corridor between Ludhiana and Howrah, running through Delhi. It will help time tabled super fast goods trains, faster passenger trains, increase rail revenue by 50 per cent, jobs, fast economic growth, Exim biz. High on speed, low on carbon: DFC will save 457.5 mn tonne CO2 in 30 years.
