Lucknow, Amritsar airports made CAT-II compliant

Airports Authority of India (AAI) has made Lucknow and Amritsar airports compliant for CAT-II operations which will facilitate landing of aircraft in visibility of up to 300 m. CAT-II system is applicable on Low Visibility Take Off (LVTO) with a Runway Visual Range (RVR) of 125 m and landing with RVR capability of 300 m. AAI has installed CAT-III compliant Instrument Landing System (ILS) with other infrastructure for commencing CAT III-B operations at the airports. At present, only Delhi Airport is equipped with CAT-III technology.
