Regional airport projects planned in AP

Airports Authority of India (AAI) is planning to develop regional airports in Kurnool, Nellore, Tadepalligudem, Ongole, Nizamabad and Ramagundam in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Vizag airport currently handles 40 flights per day, and its international operations are likely to start soon. On the other hand, the terminal building at Rajahmundry worth Rs 40 crore, is ready for commissioning, while about 465 acre has been allocated for expansion of Vijayawada airport. Tirupati airport is also being expanded. The state government further plans to unveil a policy for the development of regional Greenfield airports in the state by June.
