Users recommend SPV for Mangalore airport project

Users of the Mangalore Airport have urged the union and state governments to implement the runway extension work by forming a special purpose vehicle. The present runway, which is 8,000 ft long, needs to be extended by another 1,000 ft for the airport to gain international status. For this, another 250 acre is to be acquired, and a valley has to be filled, requiring huge investments. The SPV will help develop airport infrastructure and will also develop tourism and industries in and around the region.
