West Bengal's decision may hit railway projects

In a decision that could impact some railway projects and a number of other development projects in West Bengal, the state government has decided against land acquisition for projects to be developed through the PPP route. According to the latest decision, land for these projects would be acquired by the private partner while the State Government would act as a facilitator for faster clearances and tax benefits.
