REC CMDs views coincide with ICF theme of infrastructure funding and nationbuilding

New Delhi, 12 October 2023 — At a point of time when the construction and infrastructure industries are witnessing unprecedented growth, the eagerly awaited 9th India Construction Festival is being held at Shangri La, New Delhi, on 12th October 2023. The grand event was organised by First Construction Council in collaboration with Construction World and Equipment India magazines. The event has three interesting elements - 13th India Roads Conference, 11th Equipment India Awards and 21st CW Global awards.

In view of the critical event and at this juncture where infrastructure funding is taking centrestage, Vivek Kumar Dewangan, Chairman and Managing Director, REC, said, "After becoming a Maharatna company in 2022, the Ministry of Power allowed us to diversify into non-power infrastructure and logistics wherein we've been allowed to diversify up to one- third of our loan book into non-power sectors. In the current fiscal year, we are targeting sanctions of about Rs 1-1.25 trillion in these new areas including roads, highways, airports, and metropolitan railway projects among others. We are committed to nation-building and funding India's growth story.
