In November 2014, JCB India opened its largest manufacturing facility at Jaipur in Rajasthan with a capex of Rs 500 crore in the facility with two factories spread over 115 acre.
JCB India is a leading manufacturer of earthmoving and construction equipment in the country. Started as a JV in 1979, today it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of JC Bamford Excavators, UK, and has five world-class manufacturing facilities in India. Over the years, JCB India invested about Rs 2,000 crore in the country, and today, it employs over 5,500 people in India. The company has a network of 60 dealers and over 600 outlets across the country, which provides parts and product support to its customers. What´s more, over 6,000 professionally trained people are employed at these dealerships. JCB India has also strategically set up large parts of warehouses in the cities of Pune, Chennai, Faridabad and Kolkata to support these dealerships. At present, the company offers 43 different types of models in seven products categories, which include backhoe loaders, wheeled loaders, excavators, skid steer loaders, telehandlers, compactors and gensets. These products are sold not only in the Indian market but are exported to over 60 countries in the present day.
