The four day construction equipment exhibition in Mumbai was a veritable technological feast.
Concrete line pumps from Aquarius
Aquarius Engineers launched a series of new products at bC India 2013. These included the New Look Concrete Line Pumps - model 703 D, 1004 D SHP and 1405 D and the 43 m Boom Pump. The New Look Concrete Line Pumps feature a new design canopy that reduces the sound levels of the pump drastically. The high reach 43 m Boom Pump has a five section RZ folding boom of high strength alloy steel, which gives maximum performance and minimum weight of the structure.
JCB's excavator push
JCB launched the JS 120 range of excavators that offer durability, fuel economy and lower maintenance costs. These are powered by fuel efficient four cylinder JCB ecoMAX engine. Additionally, JCB launched JCB Liftall New 15T model 1553 can lift maximum load of 15 tonne at a distance of 1.6 m from the centre of the front wheels. It provides more working radius and productivity due to its auto rope self compensation mechanism.
Formwork solutions from Doka
Dokaflex 15 is a novel and versatile hand-set system from Doka for thin slabs. With its optimised materials usage, ease of handling and ingenious all-in-one solution, Dokaflex 15 scores for cost-efficiency in every regard. The product is a new formwork solution for residential construction that the company has developed specifically for forming concrete floor-slabs of 10-15 cm in thickness. The advantages of these slab constructions include cost-savings from needing less concrete for the slabs and less structural steel for reinforcing them.
Zoomlion-ElectroMech cranes
The Zoomlion-ElectroMech JV launched two 'Made for India' models TC 5013-5 and TC 5013- 5G at the expo. These cranes are equipped with a quick change device that requires just a pin to be removed for rapid switching between wire rope falls. Their safety is addressed through features such as a self-climbing mechanism with anti-drop device, which ensures safety during jacking while erecting the crane and wire rope and axle breakage protection on the trolley for safe operations.
Concrete batching plant from Linnhoff
Linnhoff launched the Eurotech PT60 Portable wet type computerised concrete batching plant rated 60 cu/hr for concrete. The standard of the same includes four compartment skid mounted aggregate storage bins with load cell weighing system, 36 cu m capacity c/w 1 x sand bin vibrator on aggregate hopper and 1 vibrator on aggregates weigh hopper, hot dipped galvanised twin discharge batch gates for rapid and accurate batching and auxiliary conveyor (throw belt) feeding direct to the mixer.
Atlas Copco launches handheld pick hammer
Atlas Copco introduced the lightest fully vibro-reduced handheld hydraulic pick hammer at bC India 2013. Weighing 9.5 kg, this breaker is ideally suited for horizontal work in brick and concrete work as well as building renovation. The newly designed vibro-reduced housing, where the hammer mechanism floats in the canopy, dampens vibrations throughout the whole hammer body. This significantly decreases the vibrations transmitted to the operator¦s hands and arms.
Lifter from Manitowoc
The Potain MCi 48 C, newly launched by Manitowoc and showcased at bC India, is aimed squarely at mid-level construction jobs. The maximum capacity of this crane is 2.5 tonne while it lifts one tonne out to its maximum jib end of 36 m. Freestanding working height for the crane can be up to 34.7 m, but it can climb much higher with its telescoping cage. The mast is 1.2 m by 1.2 m. Hoisting power comes from a 15 PC 13-5, which can raise 2.5 tonne at up to 21 m/min or 1.3 tonne at up to 42 m/min.
JLG launches RS Boom lifts
Designed specifically for markets like India, the RS boom lifts are available in two models: the 18RS and the 24RS, delivering 18 m and 24 m of platform height. JLG, one of the world's largest access equipment providers, has launched the RS Boom lifts at bC India. Both models feature a streamlined design with fewer parts, making them easier to maintain without sacrificing performance. Additionally, the lifts offer a platform capacity of 227 kg, with a horizontal reach of 13.1 m and 17.8 m for the 18RS and 24RS, respectively.
Proman Remco launches Vertical Shaft Grinder
Proman Infrastructure Services launched the Vertical Shaft Grinder machine in collaboration with Remco (USA), along with a special screen from Midwestern Screens (USA), for producing fine grade plaster or concrete sand via dry process. Proman-Remco VSG machines are high-speed grinders that can be custom-engineered to the specific requirements of different fine aggregates. They produce plaster or concrete sand of high quality or cubical sand less than 2 mm in size.
Rock driller from Suretech
The Reverse Circulation Drilling (RCD) rigs by Suretech are used for drilling large diameter piles in hard rocks. The machine is used for drilling a borehole through soft and hard rock layers for the construction of a foundation. In the Reverse Circulation Drilling System, compressed air is injected into the drill pipe below water level just above the drill bit. This reduces the density of the internal water column and starts the circulation.
Venus offers curb machines
Venus Equipments and Tools launched two new machines at the expo. The Phoenix Curb Machines launched by the company used for laying curbs and gutters are available in three models PCM 2500, PCM 6500 and PCM 7500. The Laser Sensor Vibratory Paving Screed is a new concept for super flat floors. Its compact, user friendly, low maintenance and high productivity qualities make it a highly competitive product. It offers low set up time of 20 minutes or less.
