Salzer Electronics Secures BBMP Smart Lighting Contract

Salzer Electronics Limited has secured a work order worth Rs 1.92 billion from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) for executing an energy efficiency project in Bengaluru. The initiative covers the East Zone and part of Bommanahalli Zone, involving installation of a Centralised Control and Monitoring System and replacement of conventional lights with energy-efficient LED lamps.

The project will be completed in eight months by Salzer, in consortium with Schnell Energy Equipments Private Limited. Payment will be received over 84 months as per agreed terms.

This contract marks Salzer’s re-entry into its Energy Saver Project under the Energy Management Services division after five years. The work will be executed through a Special Purpose Vehicle jointly managed by both companies.

Salzer is a prominent electrical solutions provider across switchgears, wires, cables, and energy management. It operates five advanced facilities in Coimbatore and is India’s largest maker of CAM-operated rotary switches and wire ducts. With strong domestic and export presence, Salzer has also introduced smart meters to strengthen its energy efficiency portfolio.

Schnell Energy Equipments, based in Coimbatore, offers smart city solutions including streetlight controllers, solar pumps, and IoT-based infrastructure tools.
