My Home to invest Rs 400 cr for cement capacity expansion

My Home Industries Ltd is investing Rs 400 crore to expand the cement manufacturing capacity of its Visakhapatnam plant. The expansion project would add an annual capacity of 1 mn tonne, taking the total capacity to 2.5 mn tonne. The company has embarked upon an ambitious target of 10 mn tonne capacity from current 4.70 mn tonne. At present, it operates four manufacturing units in Andhra Pradesh - three at Mellacheruvu (near Hyderabad) and one at Visakhapatnam. The company is also setting up a 60 MW captive power plant at Mellacheruvu and a rail link for transport of raw materials. The power plant would be operational by next year.
