About 8.6 MT of new capacity, estimated to be added in the next two fiscals, will take the total capacity in eastern India to 66.9 MT. During the same period, other regions will add around 3 to 7 MT. The per capita consumption in East, which is at a 90 kg against the national average of 200 kg, is expected to rise from its current levels.
