The company´s standalone revenue in 2013-14 increased 7.8 per cent to Rs 2,871.74 crore while its net profit decreased by 55.2 per cent to Rs 189.81 crore from Rs 423.48 crore in the previous year.
A leader in cement manufacturing since 1939, Dalmia Bharat Enterprises has grown manifold in terms of capacity. It is also planning to acquire some new plants to increase its volumes and expand capacities. Currently, the company has cement plants in the southern states of Tamil Nadu (Dalmiapuram and Ariyalur) and Andhra Pradesh (Kadapa), with a capacity of 9 mtpa. It also holds a stake of 45.4 per cent in OCL India Ltd, a major cement player in the eastern region. Dalmia Bharat Enterprises acquired the brands Adhunik Cement and Calcom Cement in the north-east and the group now controls an expandable cement capacity of 21.8 million tonne including a new project incubated at Belgaum in Karnataka. Its focus is now on the Tamil Nadu and Kerala markets.
