The Environment Ministry has given conditional nod to coal mining for Bedabahal project. The ministry seeks to reduce coal mining area of a block attached to the 4,000 MW ultra mega power project at Bedabahal in Orissa by 10-15 per cent. If the Power Ministry agrees to protect at least 200 of 260 hectare forest land, the Environment Ministry will give them forest clearance.
