OMDC to operationalise six mines

OMDC (Orissa Minerals Development Company) plans to operationalise all its six mines by the end of the current financial year. The mines are close to Stage 1 forest clearance, which will be followed by a formal environmental clearance. It is expected that one mine, namely Kolha Roida, may become operational in the third quarter and the remaining five by the end of the financial year; so, the main benefit will accrue in the next financial year. The company has mining lease area aggregating to 4365.262 hectare covering six mining leases in Barbil district of Keonjhar.
