5,800 MW thermal power plant in Masula

Australia-based independent mining and coal exploration company, Queensland Coal Exploration Proprietary Ltd (QCEPL), has signed an MoU with the state government to set up a 5,800 MW coal-based power project in Krishna district, reportedly in the proposed Machilipatnam industrial corridor. As reported, the pact was signed at the Partnership Summit, 2016 held in Vishakhapatnam. The QCEPL completed site inspection in January 2015 and is now holding talks with the government departments concerned.
