L&T raises Rajpura plant capacity by 700 MW

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Punjab State Power Corporation (PSPCL) jointly undertook a capacity addition of 700 MW to the Rajpura Power Plant in Punjab. At present, the capacity of the power plant is 1,400 MW, two units of 700 MW each. The state government has given permission to facilitate accelerated addition to power generation capacity in the state in order to cater to the rising demand for electricity.
