NTPC Ramagundam to launch power projects

The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Ramagundam will soon emerge as one of the biggest thermal power stations in the country. Already, NTPC Ramagundam is producing 2,600 MW of thermal power and another 10 MW of solar power. During this financial year, the authorities are planning to launch the Telangana State Super Thermal Power project (TSSTPP) stage-I of 800 x 2 MW. NTPC had already secured coal linkage for the TS Stage-I project with the Mandakini coal block in Odisha. The TS Stage-I project requires 8 lakh metric tonne of coal per annum. The project will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 9,954.20 crore.
