National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has issued a detailed policy on banning business dealings. The focus of the policy is on unprofessional and frivolous vendors. The new policy, comes against the backdrop of instances of projects getting adversely impacted due to unprofessional approach of some vendors. The 'Policy & Procedure for Banning of Business Dealings' states that an agency could be banned on various grounds, including instances where it employs a public servant who is then dismissed or removed or when the agency employs a person convicted for an offence involving corruption or abatement of offences.
