The Odisha Government has plans to award a smart grid power network for the Phailin-affected Ganjam district by June this year. The global tender for the project was floated by Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (OPTCL) in two phases and the cost of the project is estimated at Rs 1,000 crore. While Asian Development Bank (ADB) has agreed to provide a loan of around Rs 650 crore, the remaining Rs 350 crore will be borne by the state government.
