Upgradation worth Rs 2,400 cr for Orissa discoms

The Orissa Cabinet has cleared the Rs 2,400 crore system upgrade plan for four power distribution companies in the state. Of the total outlay to be spent over a period of four years, Rs 1,200 crore will be provided by the state government while the remaining amount will be met by the four distribution companies from their internal resources.

Under the system upgrade plan, every year, the discoms are required to bring down their aggregate technical and commercial loss (AT&C) by 3 per cent.
