Assam Cabinet Okays Mega Industrial Park and New Green Energy Policy

The Assam Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has approved the establishment of a mega industrial park and introduced a new green energy policy to foster sustainable development in the state. 

The Cabinet has earmarked 569 bighas (over 188 acres) of land in Morigaon district for the industrial park, which is expected to drive industrial growth and generate significant employment opportunities. 

Additionally, the Cabinet approved the Assam Integrated Clean Energy Policy, 2025, to encourage the use of renewable energy sources, including solar, wind, mini and small hydro, and hydrogen projects. 

The Cabinet also announced the creation of Sikhna Jwhwlao National Park, which will be situated between the Raimona and Manas National Parks in Chirang and Kokrajhar districts, spanning 316.29 square kilometres. 

Furthermore, Post Graduate increments were approved for Ayurvedic doctors who have successfully completed a 3-year PG course.
