Enfinity Global Commissions Mundargi Solar Plant to Supply Five MW

Enfinity Global has commissioned and commercialised the Mundargi solar power plant in Karnataka and will supply five megawatt (MW) of renewable power to CtrlS Datacentres Bangalore as a key offtaker. The plant reached commercial operation date in nearly 100 days from the signing of the final power purchase agreement. The company characterised the rapid mobilisation as evidence of its ability to accelerate renewable deployment for commercial and industrial power demand across India. The project will provide contracted electricity to data centres and other corporate customers.

The Mundargi facility is expected to offset approximately 15,000 tonnes (t) of coal consumption annually, supporting emissions reduction and the country’s renewable transition. It will deliver clean power to CtrlS and to customers in manufacturing and pharmaceuticals among other sectors. Enfinity Global presented the development as part of a wider strategy to address rising energy needs in growth sectors. The commissioning followed regulatory clearances and completion of commercial offtake arrangements.

Achieving commercial operation in close to 100 days from the final agreement reflects a compressed delivery timeline that the firm said demonstrates project execution capability. That pace is notable given permitting and grid integration requirements in the region and indicates private sector appetite for distributed renewable capacity. The plant’s output will form part of corporate renewable procurement frameworks and contribute to supply diversity for data centre operations. Enfinity Global will operate and maintain the asset within its portfolio.

The partnership with CtrlS underscores the growing role of renewable power in supporting India’s digital infrastructure as data consumption expands. Such bespoke supply agreements are becoming more common as energy intensive sectors seek to decarbonise their operations. The Mundargi plant adds to the generation capacity available to corporate offtakers and complements both on site and grid connected solutions. Future deployment will depend on corporate demand profiles and grid conditions.

Alternative Fuels Overtake Petrol As August Retail Peaks

The Indian automobile industry recorded its best-ever August retail as alternative fuels such as compressed natural gas, hybrid and electric vehicles combined overtook petrol in the passenger vehicle segment for the first time. The shift coincided with oil price rises linked to the war in the Middle East and a cooled public response to higher ethanol content in petrol. Dealers attributed stronger demand to lower running costs and concerns over the E20 petrol transition. Data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) showed total vehicle retail registrations in August..
