Gensol Wins Rs 1,340 Crore Gujarat Battery Storage Project

Gensol Engineering announced that it has won the bid for Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam's (GUVNL) 250 MW (500 MWh) Battery Energy Storage Project valued at Rs 13.4 billion. This strategic initiative aims to supply electricity on an 'on-demand' basis to Gujarat's Distribution Companies (DISCOMs) during peak and off-peak hours. By doing so, the project will extend the availability of renewable energy beyond the typical solar hours, meeting energy storage purchase obligations, and bolstering grid resilience, according to a company statement.

Gensol Engineering, a leader in solar power engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services and a significant player in the electric mobility sector, emerged as the successful bidder for this standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) project from GUVNL. The project underscores Gensol's commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions and enhancing the stability and reliability of the power grid in Gujarat.
