Green Data Centre Foundation Laid at CEL, Ghaziabad

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh recently laid the foundation stone of a state-of-the-art Green Data Centre at Central Electronics Limited (CEL), Ghaziabad. Developed under a Public-Private Partnership with ESDS, the ₹1,000 crore project will have a 30 MW capacity.

Dr. Singh praised CEL’s legacy in solar technology and its transformation through strategic collaboration, while the Chief Minister highlighted its contribution to rural electrification and infrastructure. The data centre will follow Tier III standards, with 200 high-density racks per floor, dual 10 Gbps links, and sustainable features such as rainwater harvesting, reflective roofing, and smart cooling.

The centre aims to attract startups, enterprises, and government agencies, and create skilled jobs. CEL’s revival model was commended as a benchmark for other PSUs. Dr. Singh also announced a Biotechnology Industrial Park in Lucknow and a Startup Conclave post-Independence Day.
