Mahanadi Coalfields Invites Bids for 1,086 kW Rooftop Solar Project

Mahanadi Coalfields (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India, has invited online bids to develop grid-connected rooftop solar power plants with an aggregated capacity of 1,086 kW at non-residential buildings in the Jagannath Open Cast Project (OCP) area of Odisha. The tender has been issued by the Staff Officer (E&M) of Jagannath Area.

The selected contractor will undertake engineering, design, supply, civil works, erection, testing and commissioning of the solar plants. The scope also covers net-metering arrangements, quality control, insurance and securing connectivity permissions under applicable Odisha policies.

The contract includes a Comprehensive Annual Maintenance Contract (CAMC) for five years after commissioning. The total completion period is 2,005 days, comprising 180 days for project execution and 1,825 days for maintenance. The estimated value of the work is Rs. 46.61 mn.

The tender requires an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs. 583,000, payable online through net-banking or NEFT/RTGS. Eligible Micro and Small Enterprises are exempt from the EMD requirement under applicable provisions. For the successful bidder, the retained EMD will be adjusted against the Performance Security Deposit or Performance Bank Guarantee, with the applicable requirements governed by Coal India’s standard contract guidelines.

The tender was e-published on October 5, 2026, at 18:00 hours, while document downloads and bid submissions opened on October 6 at 10:00 hours. Clarifications can be sought online until October 14 at 17:00 hours. The deadline for downloading documents and submitting bids is October 21 at 17:00 hours, and technical bids under Cover-I will be opened on October 23 at 11:00 hours. The price-bid opening date will be announced separately.

Offline submissions will not be accepted.
