Rajasthan Invites Bids for 2,450 MW Solar Project with BESS

Rajasthan has recently floated a tender for the development of a 2,450 MW solar power project integrated with 6,400 MWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS), marking one of the largest renewable-plus-storage initiatives in the country. The project is aimed at strengthening grid stability while supporting the state’s growing renewable energy capacity.
The tender seeks developers capable of setting up grid-scale solar generation along with standalone battery storage to enable reliable power supply during peak demand hours. The integrated storage component is expected to enhance flexibility in power dispatch and support round-the-clock renewable energy availability.
The initiative aligns with Rajasthan’s long-term clean energy roadmap and India’s broader transition towards low-carbon power systems. With abundant solar resources and rising electricity demand, the project is expected to attract strong interest from domestic and international renewable energy players.
