Tata Power Rooftop Solar Installations Rise 50 Per Cent in H1 FY27

Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) added more than 168,530 rooftop solar installations in the first half of FY27, marking a 50 per cent year-on-year increase. Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Kerala were the leading markets, with the four states accounting for a substantial share of the company’s installation activity during the period.

Uttar Pradesh led the installation drive with 44,014 systems and around 172 MWp of capacity in the six months ended September 2026. Maharashtra followed with 22,165 installations and nearly 100 MWp, while Rajasthan recorded 21,275 installations and 99 MWp. Kerala added 15,477 installations, contributing around 65 MWp of capacity. These figures underline the strong contribution from both residential and larger consumer segments across the states.

Tata Power Solaroof, TPREL’s rooftop solar division, added 801 MWp of capacity in H1 FY27, up 25 per cent from 639 MWp in the corresponding period of FY26. In the July-September quarter, installations reached 88,397, an increase of 33 per cent from 66,447 in Q2 FY26. Capacity added during the quarter rose 15 per cent to 426 MWp from 369 MWp a year earlier.

Following the latest additions, cumulative rooftop solar installations under Tata Power Solaroof reached 575,000, while total installed capacity crossed 5.67 GWp nationwide. The portfolio spans residential, commercial and industrial (C&I) customers, reflecting the company’s presence across multiple rooftop solar demand segments. The business has continued to expand its footprint as adoption increases in major residential and C&I markets.

Maharashtra has the highest cumulative capacity among the key states, with 73,578 installations aggregating 1,041 MWp. Uttar Pradesh has 116,254 cumulative installations and 528 MWp, while Kerala has 69,734 installations and more than 310 MWp. Rajasthan has recorded 44,798 installations with cumulative capacity of 390 MWp. The state-wise data shows differing patterns in installation volume and capacity, indicating varied demand across customer categories.
