Websol Signs MoU For 4 GW Solar Manufacturing Plant In Andhra

Websol Energy System Limited, a leading manufacturer of high-efficiency solar cells and modules, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB).

The MoU, signed through Websol Renewables Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Websol, marks the initial step in exploring the development of a 4 GW integrated solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking on the development, Mr Sohan Lal Agarwal, Managing Director of Websol Energy System, said the agreement represents a significant milestone in the company’s strategic expansion. He noted that Websol announced its plan in September 2025 to set up the 4 GW solar facility in two phases, which will take its total capacity to 5.2 GW. With more than three decades of technical expertise in solar-cell manufacturing, Websol aims to scale up production of high-efficiency solar products for customers across India.
